About Us

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire" W.B. Yeats

Education for All Trust (EfA) is a company limited by guarentee and a register charity (no. 112005) inspired by the 'transformation agenda' that is integral to the current schools building programs.

Education for All Trust

EfA seeks to ensure that in the UK the building of new schools, or the refurbishment of existing schools, is done in a way that has benefits on a local, national and global level by promoting life-long learning and sustainability for everyone.

An essential proposition of EfA is that there is a need to protect our environment in a way that nurtures a sense of accountability and secure a sustainable future for our local communities wherever we are.

To encourage community responsibility in tackling both domestic and corporate waste and the problems of climate change, EfA works with all types of agencies including trusts, commercial companies and government as well as individuals and small action groups.

Together EfA and its Development Partners help by :

  • Getting involved in new school initiatives or office building in the UK where existing buildings are cleared of furniture and fittings.
  • Raising funds to provide materials, equipment or knowledge, to enable local UK and overseas developing school communities to build for themselves sustainable schools and learning environments for their future.
All for Education Ltd (AfE)

All for Education Ltd, is a private social enterprise that clears public sector buildings like schools, and private sector offices of unwanted resources like books, IT, science, design & technology and PE equipment. It charges for it's "ethical disposal" service but any surplus (profit) is channeled back into the charity Education for All Trust. All for Education have found they can re-use & re-distribute 60-70% of resouces cleared, 25-35% of lower grade materials are re-cycled. Only 5% of the materials cleared, to date, (i.e. damaged soft furnishings) have to be landfilled. So AfE will normally divert 95% of assets from landfill.

The AfE team includes a balance of highly experienced business people, educationalists, social entrepreneurs, a skilled workforce, sustainable environment graduates, as well as offering opportunities by employing and training local unemployed Not in Education, Employment or Training(NEET) Entry to Employment (E2E) and Princes Trust individuals.

The seed capital needed to launch EfA & AfE came from founding partner Thorpe Kilworth Group although the businesses remain independent.
